If it can be built,
I'm building it.

Hey, I'm Joshua ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm a student from Scotland who turns ideas into real things. Websites, scripts, physical builds, whatever comes to mind or is asked of me.

I'm into web development, hardware, design, and anything that crosses between tech and actually making things. I like figuring out how stuff works, and even more so when I can build something from what I've learned.

When I'm not working on something, I'm probably testing new tech, helping a mate fix their laptop, or improving my projects.

I'm 17, I've been building things since I was about 11, and I'm just getting started.

What I've done.

2019 โ€” early 2026

Founder & Operator

Joshy Washy

  • Started Joshy Washy when I was 11 and ran it every month for six years before handing it off to my wee brother.
  • Handled everything myself: the team, the website, bookings, advertising, customer service, and the money.
  • Came runner-up in a Dragons' Den-style pitch through the Social Enterprise Academy.

Promoter & Distributor

Kilbrannan Sound

  • Design and produce monthly event material that goes out to around 200 households in my local village.

Oct 2022 โ€” present

Property Caretaker

Local Airbnb

  • Carry out checks between guest stays. Trusted with the keys and expected to get it right.

  • Earned multiple Saltire Awards from the Scottish Government for logging over 20 hours of community volunteering, including the Challenge Award.

Mail โ€” laveryjonez.uk

I run my own email server off my domain. Set the whole thing up myself, routing, filtering, all of it. I'd rather have full control than rely on someone else's setup.

4 years of service.

I've been in the Army Cadet Force for four years. I held Lance Corporal for two years and recently got promoted to Corporal. It has really shaped how I carry myself. The leadership, the discipline, the teamwork. Nothing else comes close.

I'm working towards the Junior Cadet Instructor Cadre (JCIC) course, I hold First Aid and Skill-at-Arms quals at 3-Star level, and I'm currently working through my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze.

  • Promoted to Corporal
  • JCIC leadership course โ€” in progress
  • First Aid (3-Star) & Skill-at-Arms (3-Star)
  • Duke of Edinburgh Bronze โ€” in progress
  • Regular adventure training, camps & field exercises
  • Selected for Remembrance Day parades & church services
